چکیده

In the setting of adjoint pairs of operators we consider the question: to what extent does the Weyl M -function see the same singularities as the resolvent of a certain restriction AB of the maximal operator? We obtain results showing that it is possible to describe explicitly certain spaces S and S̃ such that the resolvent bordered by projections onto these subspaces is analytic everywhere that the M -function is analytic. We present four examples – one involving a Hain-Lüst type operator, one involving a perturbed Friedrichs operator and two involving a simple ordinary differential operators on a half line – which together indicate that the abstract results are probably best possible. On Periodic Matrix-Valued Weyl-Titchmarsh Functions

We consider a certain class of Herglotz-Nevanlinna matrix-valued functions which can be realized as the Weyl-Titchmarsh matrix-valued function of some symmetric operator and its self-adjoint extension. New properties of Weyl -Titchmarsh matrixvalued functions as well as a new version of the functional model in such realizations are presented. In the case of periodic Herglotz-Nevanlinna matrix-v...

Weyl–titchmarsh Theory for Sturm–liouville Operators with Distributional Potentials

We systematically develop Weyl–Titchmarsh theory for singular differential operators on arbitrary intervals (a, b) ⊆ R associated with rather general differential expressions of the type τf = 1 r ( − ( p[f ′ + sf ] )′ + sp[f ′ + sf ] + qf ) , where the coefficients p, q, r, s are real-valued and Lebesgue measurable on (a, b), with p 6= 0, r > 0 a.e. on (a, b), and p−1, q, r, s ∈ Lloc((a, b); dx...

The boundary control approach to the Titchmarsh-Weyl m−function. I. The response operator and the A−amplitude

We link the Boundary Control Theory and the Titchmarsh-Weyl Theory. This provides a natural interpretation of the A−amplitude due to Simon and yields a new efficient method to evaluate the Titchmarsh-Weyl m−function associated with the Schrödinger operator H = −∂2 x + q (x) on L2 (0,∞) with Dirichlet boundary condition at x = 0.

On Spectral Theory for Schrödinger Operators with Strongly Singular Potentials Fritz Gesztesy and Maxim Zinchenko

We examine two kinds of spectral theoretic situations: First, we recall the case of self-adjoint half-line Schrödinger operators on [a,∞), a ∈ R, with a regular finite end point a and the case of Schrödinger operators on the real line with locally integrable potentials, which naturally lead to Herglotz functions and 2 × 2 matrix-valued Herglotz functions representing the associated Weyl–Titchma...
